The York District proudly encompasses 18 vibrant lodges, spanning a vast and diverse region—from the western reaches of Peel Region, through the heart of York Region, and extending as far east as North Durham. This expansive district reflects the rich tapestry of our Masonic tradition, uniting brethren from thriving urban centers to close-knit rural communities. Each lodge stands as a pillar of fellowship, charity, and personal growth, contributing to the strength and unity that define Freemasonry across our district. Our District Charity
Each year, the York District proudly rallies behind a designated charity chosen by our District Deputy Grand Master. This tradition of giving reflects our deep commitment to service and community support, embodying the core Masonic values of charity and brotherhood. Through fundraising events, donations, and the collective efforts of our 18 lodges, we make a meaningful impact on local organizations, helping to improve lives and strengthen the communities we call home. Together, we honor the timeless Masonic principle of "relief" by turning compassion into action.
What do we believe?
Freemasonry is not a religion, nor does it impose particular beliefs on its members. Instead, it cultivates an atmosphere of mutual respect and inclusivity, actively discouraging discussions on divisive topics such as religion or politics.
Freemasons hold dear values such as integrity, honesty, tolerance, and charity. The fraternity places emphasis on self-improvement, moral growth, and the pursuit of knowledge, motivating members to embody virtuous ideals and contribute positively to society.
While teachings may have slight variations across different jurisdictions, Freemasonry's core principles remain unwavering, globally.
